Mother

Who is a mother?

A mother is an ocean

of love, affection and devotion.

A mother is an epitome

of sacrifices.

She is the one ,

who nurtures us, supports us

and above all

provides us with her selfless care.

She is the one ,

who defines love.

Who is a mother?

A mother is an angel

gifted to us,

by the almighty!

(dedicated to the love of my life- my mom πŸ™‚ )

  1. You have quite obviously never met my mother. When she is not a shrieking banshee, she is a cold Lady Macbeth or the Red Queen – “Off with their heads!!!”….
But, oh well, since we are going along with the punjabificated, bollywoodized version of mother and mere paas maa hai, then I must sing paeans to that non-existent creature… “Aye, maa teri soorat se alag shaitaan ki soorat, kya hogi… usko nahein dekha humne kabhi…”…. with apologies to the good lord I don’t believe in and have replaced from that line…

  2. Yep, I know.. I used to hate all my classmates.. “I love my mother…” “Mere maa ke haath ka khaana…”…. and I used to utterly despise them… Ok, you are an engg student, so you don’t know much about Freudian analysis, I daresay πŸ˜€ hahaha…
but that is what is missing in my brain parts, I suppose.. So I lie down on the couch and blaspheme all day long.. even my psychiatrist will start having second thoughts about the “good mother”, maatashree and the rest of the divinities when I am finished.. but, heck, it is only me.. πŸ˜€

But, oh, a reminder – the punjabification is never too far away from a Delhi girl… πŸ˜› saannu kee? assein TheT madraasi haan.. tuhaadey dilli-vich all this works fine… not here… saade southie pind-vich etc this does not work too well hahaha….

  3. ok, and one more daft comment.. flippant… in reply to another none-of-my-business comment above.. what does being single have to do with having kids or not??? πŸ˜€
